Just like the previous editions, IPL 2021 has also produced some exciting players with both bat and bowl. It remains to be seen how they build on the platform that IPL has provided them.

Over the years, IPL has always been known to create a base for the players to blossom in their international colours across many events. IPL enables a player to create superstardom and propelling them to get an international cap. A huge number of players have represented their countries across many events after gaining the attention of their respective IPL selectors.

IPL 2021 has carried on the same reputation. Even though some of them have represented their international teams already, we continue to find faces that establish themselves in the cricketing world. Some of the most impressive players of IPL 2021 are as follows:

  1. Shikhar Dhawan

It is not even a surprise anymore that Shikhar Dawan is enjoying a good run of form in IPL. The left-handed batsman is currently enjoying his best-ever IPL batting average (54.28) after 8 innings, with three half-centuries to his name already.

Dhawan has scored 380 runs in 8 innings so far, which is more than half of what he scored in the entire previous edition. His highest score so far in this IPL edition was 92 against Punjab Kings. The Delhi Capitals opener has hit 51 boundaries so far this season, 8 of them being sixes. Apart from his batting credentials, he has also been very reliable in the field, taking 8 catches so far this season.

  1. KL Rahul

KL Rahul has transformed himself into a great batsman for not just his franchise but also the Indian national team. One of the biggest reasons behind that is his reputation in the IPL. For the fourth consecutive event, the right-hander is enjoying a batting average of 50 or more.

In IPL 2021, Rahul is having a batting average of 66.20, more than any of his previous editions. He has scored 331 runs in 7 matches so far. The highlight of his event so far has come against Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he scored 91 off 50 balls to get his side over the line.

  1. Harshal Patel

In the bowling department, Harshal Patel is clear of everyone. The Royal Challengers Bangalores seamer has enjoyed great form with the bowl so far this season, taking 17 wickets. He has already equalled his total number of wickets in his  2015 campaign, which was where he got his breakthrough. Patel’s standout performance so far this season was a 5-wicket haul against Mumbai Indians.

  1. Avesh Khan

Avesh Khan, from Delhi Capitals, has become a great bowler this season. The right-arm fast bowler has taken 14 wickets in IPL 2021, which is second only to Harsha Patel. Avesh’s 14 wickets this season means that he has already secured more wickets in this edition than he did in his previous four editions combined.

Although, he would like to improve on his economy (7.70 this season), but he is extremely reliable for giving his side breakthroughs in crucial moments of the game.
