India falls to 107th place in the FIFA ranking, England rise to 3rd to equal highest-ever positon

India dropped two places to 107th in the FIFA rankings in the latest update, which was announced on Thursday. India was ranked 105th in the previous edition of the ranking, but has since fallen behind Guinea-Bissau and Namibia.

Igor Stimac’s played two friendlies against Nepal in Kathmandu this month, one of which they could only draw 1-1 while they won the second 2-1. Nepal remain 168th in the 210-team rankings.

Among the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) teams, Iran have risen four places to 22nd, thus displacing Japan, who are 26th, as the highest ranked team from the continent.

Euro 2020 finalists England pushed world champions France out of the top three, reaching third place which is their joint highest on the standings. They had previously reached the top three in 2012.

Belgium remained the top ranked side, followed by Brazil. European champions Italy, on a record unbeaten international run of 37 matches, are fifth with Argentina sixth.
