IPL: Yuzvendra Chahal ‘pumped’ for 2nd half, ‘RCB have good chance of topping the table’

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) spinner Yuzvendra Chahal said he is preparing for the second half of the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The season in the UAE resumes, starting from Sunday.

“Obviously, the feeling was good. The heat was okay, I am happy with the way I bowled. I am pumped up, we are in a good position in the points table and we have a very good chance to stay at the top of the table,” said Chahal in a video posted on RCB’s official Youtube channel.

RCB had made a good start to the season before it was postponed in May due to the deadly second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in India. They won five of the seven matches and are third in the league table with 10 points. They trail second-place Chennai Super Kings only on the basis of net run rate and have played one match lesser than the top-ranked Delhi Capitals.

Chahal was not named in India’s 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup, which will also be played in the UAE shortly after the end of the IPL. He said that he has been bowling well in the nets.

“When you bowl well in the nets, you always feel good. I can say that the old Yuzi is back,” he said.
