India women’s team tour of Australia: MIthali Raj and Harmanpreet Kaur to lead India squads

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced the lineups of India’s women’s teams for the one-off test, ODI series and T20I for their tour of Australia.

which will be played from September 19 to October 11. Mithali Raj has been named the captain for the historic day-night Test and the ODI series. Harmanpreet Kauri will lead the visitors in the T20I series.

India play their first-ever day-night women’s Test at the WACA in Perth from September 30 to October 3. India are heading into the historic Test on the back of an impressive draw against England in Bristol earlier this year. While big names, including Harmanpreet Kauri, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, Shafali Verna and Jhulan Goswami have retained their spots, Sneh Rama finds a place in the Test and ODI squad after an impressive tour of England.

Left-arm spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad makes her way back into the squad while the likes of Priya Punia and Indrani Roy miss out.

There aren’t many surprises in the T20I squad with Rich Gosh taking care of the wicketkeeping duties. Renuka Singh Thakur and Yastika Bhatia are the new faces in the T20I squad.
