T20 World Cup: Full schedule, date, start time and venue of all matches

The 7th stage of the T20 World Cup and the first in 5 years will begin on October 17 with the 1st round, which will be attended by 8 teams that will compete for places at the Super 12 stage.

The International Cricket Council on Tuesday announced the fixtures for the tournament, which will be played in the UAE and Oman.

The Round 1 stage will get underway on October 17 and continue until October 22 while the Super 12 stage will kick start when South Africa and Australia go head to head in Abu Dhabi on October 23. 2016 finalists West Indies and England will then meet later in the day in Dubai. Group 2 action of the Super 12 gets underway with the marquee clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan on October 24 in Dubai.

Overview of teams for T20 World Cup
Round 1 (Top 2 teams from each group qualify for Super 12)

Group A: Ireland, Netherlands, Sri Lanka and Namibia

Group B: Oman, Papua New Guinea, Scotland Bangladesh

Super 12 (Top 4 teams qualify for semi-final)

Group 1: Australia, South Africa, England, West Indies, A 1, B2

Group 2: India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan, A2, B1

Tournament format
Round 1

Round 1 will feature 8 teams drawn into two groups of 4 each. The winner and runner-up of each group will make it to the Super 12 round.

Each team in Round 1 will play 3 matches. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will also be part of Round 1 action.

Super12

The second round of the tournament – the Super12 stage – will get underway in Abu Dhabi on 23 October, with the Group 1 contest between Australia and South Africa. This will be followed up with an evening clash between England and West Indies in Dubai.

Group 2 will commence with a heavyweight clash between India and Pakistan in Dubai on 24 October at 6pm local time. Pakistan then take on New Zealand in Sharjah on 26 October, in a tough start for the 2009 champions. Afghanistan begin their campaign on 25 October at Sharjah, taking on the winners of Group B from the first round.

Semi-finals

The top 4 teams at the end of the Super 12 stage will progress to the semi-final. The first semi-final will be held in Abu Dhabi on 10 November at 6 pm local time. The second semi-final will be hosted by Dubai on 11 November. Both semi-finals have reserve days.

The final

The marquee clash of the tournament will take place in Dubai at 6 pm local time on 14 November, Sunday, with Monday acting as the reserve day for the final.
