Virat Kohli and James Anderson involved in verbal battle: ‘This is what old age makes you do’

A relationship broke out between India captain Virat Kohli and England veteran James Anderson during the first session of Day 4 of the second test at Lord’s.

Kohli seemed to be irked at something that Anderson said to him. “You swearing at me again are you? This isn’t your fu***ng backyard,” Kohli could be heard saying on the stump mic to Anderson during the 17th over of the day.

“Chirp chirp chirp. This is what old age makes you do,” Kohli could be heard saying after Anderson bowled the fifth delivery of the over.

Kohli was dismissed on 20 towards the end of the session by Sam Curran. The Indian captain once again fell while poking at a delivery well that was travelling outside off stump. It took his outside edge and wicketkeeper Jos Buttler took the catch, sparking wild celebrations among the England players.

India eventually ended the session on 56/3 with a slender lead of just 29 runs. India earlier lost their in-form openers KL Raul, who scored a century in the first innings, and Rohit Sharma within the first 12 overs of the day.
