Lord’s Test Day 1 Weather forecast: Cloudy conditions, but continuous play is possible

The second test between India and England starts on Thursday at the famous Lord’s Cricket ground.

The first Test was heading towards an exciting finish on the final day before rain washed out any chances of a result but at Lord’s it is likely that the first day of the match won’t see any interruptions caused by rain.

While India were in a better position to win the first Test before the heavens opened up on the final day, the first innings score of 278 was still below par as none among Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane scored runs. All three haven’t scored heavily in the past two years and save Rahane, who got a hundred in Melbourne, the other two batting mainstays haven’t been able to convert a lot of their half-centuries into three-figure marks.

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE AT LORD’S?

According to data published on the United Kingdom Met Office’s website, much of the morning session and some parts of the second session will be played under heavy cloud cover. Chances of precipitation will hover at around 10 per cent until around 2pm.
