“This ball will trouble Don Bradman also” R Ashwin told a fan who pointed out a weakness in his batting

India’s senior spinner R. Ashwin came up with a hilarious response to a fan who pointed out some glaring weakness in his batting.

R Ashwin is one of the most clever bowlers in the world at present and is known for outfoxing batsmen with a plethora of variations up his sleeves. The senior Indian spinner is a witty character both on and off the ground and remains active on social media where he often interacts with his fans.

Ashwin has been making videos on YouTube regularly for his official channel and keeps posting the behind-the-scenes of the Indian dressing room. In one of his latest YouTube videos, a fan pointed out a glaring weakness in the off-spinner’s batting. The fan explained how Ashwin faces problems against the incoming bouncers directed at the body.

“Sir observing your batting for a long time if there is any problem it is the incoming bouncer directed at the body around the middle stump line from over the wicket and short leg therefore comes into play while you bat,” the fan wrote in the comments section of Ashwin’s YouTube video.

The spinner responded to the fan in a hilarious manner and wrote – “This ball will trouble Don Bradman also.”

One of India’s most successful bowlers in Test cricket, Ashwin has also played some crucial knocks with the bat for the team over the years. He played one of the most memorable knocks in his Test career against Australia in Sydney during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21, where he played a gritty knock of 39 runs to combine with Hanuma Vihari and save the Test match for India.

Ashwin has 2685 runs in 79 Tests apart from his 413 wickets which have come at an average of 24.56. He remains one of the vital cogs of the Indian Test team under Virat Kohli despite being sidelined from white-ball cricket. Ashwin is currently in England with the rest of the Test squad ahead of India’s five-match Test series against Joe Root & Co.

India will take on England in the five-match Test rubber which gets underway from August 04.
