Euro 2020 semi-final: England will face a confident Denmark as favorites, Italy-Spain are fighting for a place in the final

England have stormed into the semi-finals of Euro 2020 for the first time in 25 years after Harry Kane’s brace helped Gareth Southgate’s team beat Ukraine 4-0 on Saturday to set up a clash with Denmark.

Notably, Euro 2020, which began on June 11 with matches in 11 major cities across Europe, is in full swing, with some of Europe’s biggest heavyweights currently involved in a battle for continental glory. And now at the end of the quarter-final stage, the knockout drama continues with just four teams now left to dream of lifting the trophy on 11 July.

Euro 2020’s first semi-final is a mouth-watering clash between two of Europe’s biggest footballing nations: Italy and Spain. While Italy look in fearsome form, making in 15 wins in a row, Spain appeared to have found their scoring touch before the knockouts.

Italy reached the Euro 2020 semi-finals with a 2-1 win over Belgium on Friday as first-half goals from Nicolo Barella and Lorenzo Insigne settled a thrilling encounter against the worldโ€™s top-ranked team. On the other hand, Spain advanced to the final four after beating Switzerland in a penalty shootout in Saint Petersburg, following a 1-1 draw.

England play at their home stadium against Denmark in the second semi-final on Thursday. The Danes will travel to London for a Euro 2020 semifinal match on Thursday with memories still fresh of their victory over England at Wembley Stadium last October.

Denmark had qualified for the Euro 2020 semi-finals with a 2-1 win over the Czech Republic as goals from Thomas Delaney and Kasper Dolberg were enough to see the Danes into the last four. England comfortably beat Ukraine 4-0 in Rome in the final quarter-final to set up a match-up against Denmark in the final four.
