Ravi Sastry enjoys Wimbledon 2021 during a break after the WTC final: It’s great to be back on a sunny day

India’s head coach Ravi Shastri is making the most of the 20-day break given by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) before the five-match Test series against England, from August 4.

Ravi Shastri turned up at center court of All England Tennis Club to enjoy the ongoing Wimbledon on Thursday. “Great to be back on a sunny day at @Wimbledon. Great tradition. Centre court beckons in a bit,” Shastri tweeted.

Shastri and other India cricketers are enjoying a 20-day break following their eight-wicket loss against New Zealand in the inaugural World Test Championship (WTC) final at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton. Shastri and captain Virat Kohli are currently in the line of fire after India failed to win yet another ICC tournament.

Ravi Shastri had said that better team New Zealand are the deserved winners after the longest wait for a world title, and it is a classic example of why big things don’t come easy.

Earlier, Former India all-rounder Reetinder Sodhi had said that Rahul Dravid “is in line” to take over as the head coach from Ravi Shastri, whose contract expires after the completion of the T20 World Cup later this year, despite the former’s glowing record.

Under Shastri, India defeated Australia in Australia twice and reached the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup and the WTC Final, but lost both the knockout games to New Zealand after starting as favourites.
