Hassan Ali is not the reason for my resignation, what happened is normal in the tour: Younis Khan

Amid speculation about the reasons for his resignation as batting coach, Younis Khan said that the quarrel with Hassan Ali did not lead to a decision.

The former Pakistan great added that what happened between Ali and him during the South Africa tour was in the heat of the moment, adding that such incidents happen on tours. He also suggested that Hasan Ali’s name should not be dragged in the middle as he is on a national duty currently and the rumour can divert his mind.

“I don’t know how this thing came in media and got hype. It was the heat of the moment and it is normal on tours. I don’t think there is any need to give this issue a hype as Hasan is currently on national duty and this controversy can divert his mind,” Younis Khan told ARY News.

Further, Younis Khan revealed that a contract between PCB and him does not allow either of the parties to reveal the reason behind his resignation for the next six months. The 43-year-old Khan once again highlighted that there were no differences between him and the current team management.

“See, I and PCB had a contract in which it was mentioned that after we part ways, we will not discuss anything on it for the next six months. So, I don’t know whether to disclose the reason behind my resignation but to be very frank, it has nothing to do with the Hasan incident which was leaked despite a contract in place,” he added.

“I really enjoyed working with the team management, there were no differences at all. See, I took up the batting coach post to serve my country again and share my experience with the batters,” he shared.

“I have good relations with Ehsan Mani and Wasim Khan and we often remain in touch on cricket matters. I always try to suggest them on different matters as in the end, it is all about Pakistan’s cricket,” he concluded.
