IPL: Bhuvneshwar Kumar defended 12 in final over as SRH register upset win over RCB

Sunrisers Hyderabad registered an upset win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

SRH defended 141 in 20 overs by restricting RCB to 137 for 6 to win by 4 runs at the Zyed International Stadium.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jason Holder, Sidharth Kaul, Umran Malik and Rashid Khan produced a clinical effort with the ball to help SRH win their third win of the season.

Devdutt Padikkal top-scored with 41 runs while Glenn Maxwell scored 40 as RCB faltered in their chase.

Earlier, opener Jason Roy top-scored with a 38-ball 44 but Royal Challengers Bangalore produced a disciplined bowling display to restrict Sunrisers Hyderabad to 141 for seven in their IPL game, here on Wednesday.

Roy shared a 58-ball 70 run stand with skipper Kane Williamson (31) to set the platform but SRH lost three quick wickets for two runs in seven balls to eventually end up with a below-par score at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

Harshal Patel (3/33) emerged as the most successful bowlers after RCB skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bowl.

Daniel Christian (2/14) took two wickets, while spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal (1/27) and Shahbaz Ahmed (0/21) kept things in check, while George Garton conceded 29 runs in two overs for his one wicket.
