Best probable performers

Sanju Samson

The Royals skipper averages 48 this season. The batting order’s reshuffling has not affected his form nor his temperament. He has been playing an instrumental role for Rajasthan in run chases, staying till the end to make sure the team crosses the line.

Jasprit Bumrah

Despite the team not doing so well, Jasprit Bumrah has proved himself as a gun bowler in death overs. The right-arm pacer has been leading the MI pace cartel well so far, but lack of work from the batters has hurt his cause.

Bumrah is not among the wickets, but he has been keeping the economy tight on his end, especially towards the end of his quota when the batters are willing to go ballistic.

He will be the key performer with the ball for Mumbai.

Match prediction

Mumbai Indians have not lived up to their reputation this season as the reigning champions. The team is languishing at the seventh spot, coming off a loss too.

Rohit Sharma has admitted that the side has lacked firepower at the top as well as in the middle overs. Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya and Sharma himself have not brought out their A-game consistently. Quinton de Kock hasn’t been making it big in powerplay consistently too. He and Sharma have had a knack for departing after giving good starts, failing to build on the inning.

This has denied the defending champions the opportunity to post big totals consistently. They have lacked consistency in all departments, which is bizarre considering that they are have own the league five times since its inception.

While Rajasthan Royals aren’t having their best season, but they’ve picked themselves up since coming over to the UAE. They are coming off a big win against Chennai Super Kings. A dominant win over the three-time IPL champions will have Samson’s men brimming with confidence against the defending champions.

Samson himself is in a supreme form which will help the Royals climb up the table and continue their search for a playoff berth in the IPL 2021.

Considering current forms of both teams, the Royals shall be the firm favourites for Tuesday’s clash.
