IPL, SRH vs CSK: It’s good to learn from Dwayne Bravo, says Josh Hazlewood

Josh Hazlewood led the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team to their 6th victory over the Hyderabad Sunrisers (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

The Australian pacer returned with his best figures 3 for 24 in the IPL and credited his success to the IPL and CSK teammate Dwayne Bravo.

“I put in a lot of hard work and learned a lot every game. It’s hard to learn since there’s a different team every game, but it’s satisfying,” said Hazlewood in the post-match presentation.

“It’s good to learn from DJ Bravo over the last few weeks too, and it’s been a great learning curve for me,” he added.

Sent in to bat, SRH posted a below-par 134 for seven, riding on Wriddhiman Saha’s 44.

The opening duo of Ruturaj Gaikwad (45) and Faf du Plessis (41) then set the platform before Ambati Rayudu (17 off 13) and MS Dhoni (14 off 11) finished the chase with two balls to spare.

With this win, CSK has also qualified for the playoffs.

Hazelwood dismissed Jason Roy to give CSK a perfect start in the match. At the back of the innings, he dismissed Abhishek Sharma and Abdul Samad to break SRH’s back.

“Getting Roy was a big wicket, and it was good to put the pressure back on them early,” he said.

“The wicket offered a little, it was on the slower side and a little low as well. We are happy we are applying whatever we are doing in the practice,” he added.

CSK will be up against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday.
