Alexander Zverev defeated Alejandro Davidovich Fokin and reached the semifinals of the French Open

The sixth racket of the world from Germany Alexander Zverev was able to make it to his third Grand Slam semifinal and become the first at the French Open, beating Spanish opponent Alejandro Davidovich Fokin with a score of 6-4, 6-1, 6-1 in just 1 hour 36 minutes.

The sixth-ranked German overcame a slow start to completly demolish 21-year-old Fokina. Zverev committed less than half as many unforced errors as Fokina, who ranks 46th on the ATP chart.

Alexander Zverev’s will meet the winner of the high-octane match between world number 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas and 2nd seeded Daniil Medvedev in the night match of Tuesday. They two young stars of the tennis world will clash at the Court Philippe Chatrier.

Zverev reached his first Grand Slam final at last year’s US Open and lost to Dominic Thiem in five sets. The 24-year-old also played in the semifinals at the 2020 Australian Open.

It’s nice to be in the semi-finals, but just being there doesn’t satisfy me. I think I’m playing pretty well,” Zverev told in his on-court interview after the win.

“My baseline play really improved after the first set. [Alejandro] has improved a lot, this was his first grand slam quarter-final, and I don’t think it’ll be his last,” he added.
